Nearly 25,000 Lost Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Impact
Locals observed giant hailstones measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 requests for assistance across the state, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
